Congratulations!

To the year 2007 batch of year 6! Though I am not particularly close to you guys, some of which because of a certain event that took place years ago… But, still, congrats and because of you, we get an abrupt day off tomorrow! Though of course, next year, and we will be cursing you and the 2008 batch of year 6 because you guys did/will do very well! God bless you! With that said, hope you guys had good grades, goos memories, and a lot of fun while you were here! And once again… Congratulations!

So in the morning, before we started chapel, madam came into the auditorium looking all flustered, and guess what, she wanted the subject option forms to be handed in there and then! O.O Being myself, I thought that we would be taught how to fill it in because of some miscommunication during last night of orientation. But, as usual, it was not the case and I did not even bring the form to school. Daring efforts by me were made during the lectures in the morning where I attempted to SMS my dad in the lecture hall while the lecture was going on, but to no avail as my dad said he could not find the IB file with the forms in it. DOH. So, I had to hand it in tomorrow…

Then the abrupt announcement came in when the 2007 batch of year 6’s results came in that there would be a holiday tomorrow. I did not realise that it would affect my handing in of the option form until after my dinner where me and my friends celebrated at LIDO. Well that is beside the point. I came home only to feel as anxious and worried over the submission of the subject option form as I did when I was told I most probably would not get what I wanted because I did not submit the form that day. =S But, since I live near school, and with a pull of some strings, I should be able to hand them in and not really get into much of a trouble I hope. ^^

EE briefing was boring and FUN! CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT OXYMORON?!?!?!? Is that cool or what!?!??!?!? It was boring because… well… it was boring. It was fun because we played BINGO! It started out to be only 4 people playing, and even then it was hard enough to get it past the teachers without feeling scared of being caught. Then by some freakish occurence, our game expanded to a 7-man game!??!?!?! O.O OMG! Imagine 7 people on 2 different rows playing Bingo – a game that requires some form of verbal communication! It was thrilling and a good game to play to pass time by. The lecture ended early. Come to think of it, it could be that it ended early because the speaker knew that we were bored to the extent of playing games. And with that she got annoyed and stopped the lecture. Who knows? She is an enigma. But one thing could be said from gossips that she is one who yearns to be in the invite list to a king’s ball. That is that for the lecture.

So, that aside, me and my friends celebrated Marcus’ birthday at LIDO, eating at some Japanese restaurant, I forgot what the name was. But I recall it had a little spring to its name between the first and second syllable. The curry rice was impeccably delicious! YUM! The seaweed sauce was delicious too! Though of course, the price was slightly on the high side. But, for good food, I guess you have to learn to give and take. We laughed and joked about our schools, talked and gossiped about our orientation, OGs, OGLs, and boy did we make a din in the restaurant. We even played “bom ji ji” there! It was hilarious! We took a video of us playing and we laughed really hard. We took pictures of memory to mark Marcus’ birthday. After, Dwayne went to redeem his Gelatissimo ice cream – rum cream (or something like that). I ate half of it becase he could not finish it. I need to grow bigger anyways. After, Marcus bought his iPod case at Wheelock and then a book from Borders. Dwayne bought a book – magazine. =.=

Then we parted our ways, saying goodnight to each other.

A bus 14 stopped at the bus stop from which me and Kah Wei was waiting at. It stopped even before the start of the bus stop because a guy flagged the bus. I was too concerned about reminding myself to get my subject option filled out that I did not see the bus coming. Then after the guy went on I stood up and flagged the bus. I wonder if the driver was angry. Oh well.

And now as I am typing this after bathing and all, I am listening to MSN message alerts every second or so from just one conversation of OG members! SEE OG1 ROCKS! I could go crazy from just reading the ongoing conversation, I mean, after you type something you are lines behind and you have to read to catch up. It is especially hard since I do not do touch-typing.

Okay, enough of today’s events. So I was thinking, writing down notes might really help someone in understanding the lesson. I mean, I took down notes on Wilfred Owen, including the part of him being (a new word that I learnt today) a HOMOEROTIC. Well, the word was HOMOEROTICISM. It came from Paul Tan. “When I am speaking, I am GOD…” Funny man, but he should really watch his words, I mean, his words were so suggestive when he said “Brian Ng, you are distracting me.” Especially when he said it just about the time when he was talking about Wilfred Owen making friends with his gay partner or so it seems, Siegfried Sassoon, and Siegfried Sassoon introduced him to his circle of homos. It seemed so wrong that the only thing ACS boys would react was to laugh, be it directed at him or not, that is a totally different issue. It was a funny lecture, yet I took quite a lot with me, so I found him a good teacher, but my friend says eitherwise. So, I cannot comment.

Also, looking at the schedules for EE, we actually just start on them only in the 3rd term. like WHAT THE HECK?!?!?!? The first two terms are just “exploring the subjects”. Like what’s up with that? Term 3 only then we start submitting our proposals to the teachers for the topic to be approved. So if we did experiments beforehand and the teacher you are assigned to slams your topic down, we have to redo everything?!?!? I find that madness. I will just go nuts and go on a rampage, be it social or not, physical or not.

As for CAS, well, I am planning that once I get my class, I will gather people to carry out the long-term CAS project ASAP, so that it will be done by the time term 3 exams even start to bug us. I mean, one term should be long enough for a long-term CAS project right?

Then I have SYSF to worry about. My group said that I am the leader, but I do not have the contacts and all, so it is kind of hard to assume such a position, and my group people are like “You set the meeting time lo, you leader what, you set we go lo” and then I will be like, cannot what, if I set then you cannoy make it then what is the point of setting it in the first place. Oh well, we are meeting up this Saturday, so we will see how it goes.

Now, my mom is worried about me taking Theatre Arts. I understand where she is coming from. I mean it will not help me job prospect, and it is better to have an acting background, which I do not really have other than what I would say a failure OM. Nonetheless, I am sticking to my plan that I will put it and go for classes, and if there is any mishap or anything I will just change that subject to Economics. It is not like I have a choice anyways. Besides, people score well for Economics, hopefully I will too.

So, with all those worries jotted down, penned down, they will linger in cyberspace and hopefully not bug me till later when everything is settled down. Tomorrow is a holiday and my OG and I are going out! ALL THE WAY OG1! And… there goes my plan to finish Paddy Clarke by this week and finish 200 pages of Huckleberryfinn. Oh well, hopefully I make it. I will try my best.
