MUSE ‘08 <3<3

MUSE ‘08 was and has been and will probably be one of the more fun times in life as with every other previous MUSE performance. Ronald gave a very nice, well-written, detailed, comprehensive, well drawn out, well-explained account of the whole day’s events. Nice work on that! =) Jono gave a very nice account on his part of which I loved the part about being alone in the concert hall and testing out the atmosphere, just as Ronald did with Justin the acoustics. For my recount, please read theirs. Haha! Ze writer iz on ztrikez!

On the contrary, mine rather was a slightly different experience, though mostly on the same lines as those above, my day started off with BIO PRAC! Haha. Not much the concern, but in any case, I happened to do something quite so dear to my heart though no one actually acknowledged it in… well… anywhere, that I GAVE OUT MY CUTE LITTLE DANGOS! =( Haha. Well, not that it requires or that I actually really seek recognition for these little things which are in fact gifts to my friends.

Sorry though, my apologies out to the year 5s, I didn’t manage to make enough for you guys, and if I did, I would be sleeping at a much later time than what I did (which shall not be disclosed for various reasons that should and shall not be disclosed too). But in any case, LOOK OUT FOR THE FOLLOWING CONCERTS! GIFTS SHALL RAIN DOWN LIKE RAINDROPS ON A GLISTENING MORNING! JOYFUL AND ABUNDANT! Haha. Well, hopefully my creative juices and the inspiration to follow will render me able to formulate more ways to express my heartfelt blessings to all of my friends.

So I passed out my little bundles of joy, though I don’t think they were like OMG awesomeness, but I guess it was passable. It seems my creations are never taste-tested, test-tasted, (?) by me, the creator for various reasons like I was too tired to even try my own baking (the muffins for Valentine’s Day), and the boiling/sauce-making (Dango for MUSE ‘08). To each their own reasons, but I really have to be the lab rat before I hand these out next time. Haha. After all, I do find myself in a rather peculiar state of mind where I seemingly am to be like that of the neighbour in Robert Frost’s poem, Mending Wall.

Well, the tags that came with the dangos were meant so as to commemorate the occasion with something that everyone could keep and reminiscence when looking back on the times. Well, of course they were in the shapes of cute little dangos! The symbolic meaning to them for those who have not watched the awesome anime Clannad, is that to those whom I gave out the dangos, you guys are part of my dango daikazoku! Well, though heirarchy is not really nice… but, those who had writings behind the tag are those closer to my heart like a pair of twins to each other, and those without, you are like siblings, all part of the big big family. ^^ As for my juniors, I would have love to make tags for you guys, but… like stated above, I slept at unearthly hours, so I’m sorry, but you guys are like the little dango siblings that I have! ^^ But of course, special people had specially designed tags like Gen who had her birthday on concert day, had hers designed with a Japan flag (the one before the end of Japanese occupation of Singapore), since she <3 Japan so much! Haha! Gen, if you read this, must remind me to pass you the recipe for the dango! And Yew Jin! You didn’t collect you dango! Tsk! My mom probably threw it away so I’ll have to make you a new tag… =S

Okay, back on topic, after passing out the gifts and receiving gifts, yada yada yada, esplanade… Oh yea! The bus ride! Haha! The funny thing was that Matthew was playing with my hair and massaging my forehead and Gua Khee took a picture and a video correspondingly, and by popular comment, we looked like monkeys pruning each other! O.O Haha. Hilarious. Oh and erm, Ronald’s name tag… Bvst! Baahhhh! Bwahahahahha!  Okay, okay, I’m sorry, anyways it wasn’t malicious intent to poke a little fun at the hilarity of the whole scenario. John was telling how he had a chain of tags on his wardrobe each giving to its own a whole new orchestration of his name, in different arrangements too! Hilarious. My name’s rather boring, so the worst I can get is Tan Jenn Chong. It’d be cool if it were just Jenn. Haha! Too bad my chinese name is so far off my passport name – Zheng Zheng Zhong. ZZZ. Maybe that’s why I’m always so lazy. HAR HAR!

blah blah blah… esplanade… tuning… soundcheck (Feng Yang Hua Gu and Charming Asia)… changing (refer to Ronald’s blog for more details on the fun parts, though I gave a miss on the chocolate… was low on cash anyways =’( )… tuning… more soundcheck (Persis, Blue Shades, Turandot, With Heart and Voice)… dining in hallway eating packeted food, Zhe Yu complaining about Global Warming, me complaining about the food, me gacking on the food, me realising that my first mouthful of food took 5 minutes to be forcefully pushed down my oesophagus.

Poor ACJC had to “practice” going up the stage and off. O.O Saw them lining up at like 1811 hrs and was wondering if concert actually started that early or were they just THAT on about the concert. O.O

Ooh! Almost missed out on the part on photo-taking! Huhu! I guess I’m not photogenic… Haha! I don’t know… I never stand out in any of the pictures I take. Weird…. Hm… Oh wells… Took pictures with various people, of which one of them, being the most outrageous and funky was the one with Matthew with us hugging and doing some weird pose. LOL! Whilst waiting for me and John’s turn to be up to take the photo, I tried Kah Wei’s clarinet! Oliver stared at me conspicuously as if I was using his. Tsk! Anyways, so I tried, and actually… MY TONE WAS… Haha, well, I found it quite nice, though I kept squeaking because I kept over-biting. Oh well. Gu Wei cheated Kah Wei by giving him an unsoaked reed which is practically dry wood to play on the oboe! Obviously no sound could be made. LOL!

On our way back from photoshoot, hehe, somehow it runs in us humans to do things like these. Mine was a little different where I started singing, as I always do, and I could hear my echo all the way up somewhere around the 3rd circle or so. Soft as it was, it was audible. The moment was all but short-lived when other people began streaming in; weird because me and John were like the last people to leave the photoshoot.

Concert started, the rush, the buzz, the fun, the anger, the fervor, the pride, the glory, the fame, every emotion brought out and displayed by the concert’s bands and repetoire played. Amazing night it was, an unforgetable night; A Night to Remember.

Samuel (my primary school BFF) went for the concert and DID NOT BUY TIX FROM ME! So disappointing! Vanessa and Shu Hui turned up at the stage door and popped a carrot, and biscuits into me and John’s already full hand with instruments and all. Suyin, Rebecca and Apple (Qian Qi) came to visit, I received a jelly! Rushed upstairs to meet my sis and Samuel. On the way, met Yi Min, though I was really running very late and my sis and Samuel were waiting for quite long already so I only spoke a few words before rushing off. Met my sis, she gave me Mrs. Fields to eat as supper, though I still have it untouched, probably going to eat it tomorrow.

(Much details have been left out as I need my sleep… hope to fill them in later)

On the way back, the bus was unusually quiet, no buzz, not a sound, I guess everyone was dead beat. Perhaps, only a well-spent person drained of energy from the zest one put in into the performance could yield such soul-less atmosphere. Thought and dreamt and wished for much… wishful thinking? Haha. The day ended, and I missed school the next day as I had really bad stomachache in the morning and I managed to get 12 hours of rest. Though, still very tired. Haha.

K, that’s all for now. More editting and addition on it’s way!

Though 2 days late as such, I guess I have to apologise for the late recount on the performance the day before. It is as such that due to the sudden surge in the number of pairs of eyes that scrutinise the murals I create that even as I paint, I do take care, real care in every detail I depict… well, almost that is.
